CRITERIA
Awards are made on the basis of the following criteria:
- Interest – current and future – in the seed industry in particular and agriculture in general
- Scholastic achievement and activities
- Essay
- Financial need
- Letter of recommendation
- CSA affiliation
Applications must be received in the CSA office no later than February 15, 2008. Public announcement of the awards will be made during the CSA Annual Convention being held April 6-9, 2008. Scholarship recipients as well as all other applicants will receive notification by mail following the announcement of the awards.
Eligibility
High school graduating seniors, undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Funds will be made available to full-time students enrolling in a California college or University. Major Fields of study include but are not limited to the following: plant science, plant physiology, seed physiology, soil science, botany, agribusiness, etc. Special interest in the seed industry is a plus.
